Sgt. 2Step Foundation & CMA of Texas Honor John “Swat” Swantner
The Sgt. 2Step Foundation has created a new Veteran recognition initiative in partnership with the CMA of Texas, and we are asking Veteran organizations across Texas to help us share its inaugural recognition.
U.S. Army Veteran John “Swat” Swantner of Bellville, Texas, will be honored during the CMA of Texas Awards Show on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, at Dosey Doe — The Big Barn in The Woodlands.
John served on active duty in the United States Army from 2004–2008, including two deployments to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. His service continued after returning home through his work supporting Veterans, families of the Fallen, Gold Star families, and survivors through the Sgt. 2Step Foundation.
This recognition is about more than one evening. It is part of a new effort by the Sgt. 2Step Foundation to recognize Veterans whose service and impact continue beyond the uniform, using music and community to highlight those who continue serving others.
We respectfully ask your organization to share this announcement with your Texas chapters, detachments, posts, members, newsletters, social media audiences, Veteran families, and community partners. We also welcome connections with your leadership as this new recognition initiative grows.
Thank you for helping us ensure Texas Veterans know their continued service is seen and valued.
