Hill Country and Kerrville Flooding

Flooding in Kerrville

Texas is experiencing a significant natural disaster in the Valley.

Our thoughts and prayers must continue to support the victims and those responding to the situation. For VVA TSC, we have a Chapter that has been impacted. Chapter 863 in Kerrville has been directly affected, but only has two Members that currently need help. TSC officers and several Chapters have already initiated efforts to aid. We have heard from El Paso, Baytown, and Corsicana. A vote of thanks goes out to them and to the other Chapters that have not supplied TSC with information on their activities.

For the rest of us, Treasurer Jim Boyd has stepped forward and become our primary point of contact and coordinator. As he has done before in these situations, he has established a fund to collect donations from Chapters and individuals.

The TSC Executive Board has consensually decided that the proceeds from the fund will be provided to our Chapter rather than other aid funds established by relief organizations. Any Chapters or individual members who wish to assist our Brothers and sisters on the front line of this natural disaster are encouraged to use this avenue. The information on the VVA TSC relief fund is shown below.

In addition, AVVA National reached out to the finance chair for AVVA Texas, and National made a motion to donate $1,000.00 to the VVA and AVVA families affected by the Texas floods.

VVA and AVVA 574 are sending $500 each for a total of $1,000.
